IRL of the Day: In light of last night’s season premiere of Mad Men, the Wall Street Journal took some time to ponder the sorts of questions they might ask the “real” Don Draper, and topped the article off with a signature hedcut of the dashing Creative Director (despite the fact that dot-ink portraits weren’t a feature of the paper until 1979, whereas the events of the fourth season take place in 1964).

I can’t stop watching this show, which I guess is good because I need to catch up for the premiere of season 4 on July 25.
Do you ever listen to a song and think, “Wow, if my life were a movie this is the song that would be playing right now.” I do.
Can you be surrounded by a sea of people - or a group of really good friends - and still feel so alone? I can.
Do you sometimes just want to escape and move across the country and start completely over and be influenced by new things. I do.
Do you really want to travel the world and see everything there is to search for a source of never ending happiness? I do.
Do you tell yourself you want to commit to a relationship, but then realize you suck at it and tell yourself you are better off alone. I do.
Do you look back on your life and have many regrets. I do.
Despite all this, when doing these things do you say to yourself, “Shut up you have an amazing life - just live it.” I do. and its so true.
Sometimes I am happy for just a moment.
In that moment, I think of all the goodness in my life, and forget all the problems and stresses that surround me,
I think about the possibilities that lay ahead of me, all the amazing and unique people I will meet, all the (hopefully) great ideas I will have,
I think about the adventures that I will have and the love that I will share,
all the things that I will discover and all the things that will discover me.
It is in this moment that I have hope,
Hope that tomorrow will bring me one step closer toward a life time of happiness.
